Andrea SCHLOSSAREK

Director, Corporate Master Data Management, METRO AG

Andrea is globally responsible for master data management in domains of product, customer and supplier in 26 METRO countries. METRO AG located in Düsseldorf is a leader in wholesale focused on professional customers in the areas of gastronomy, trade and services. In Czech republic it is represented by MAKRO Cash & Carry.

Andrea started the career in METRO in 2010 and before taking over the current responsibility she was leading departments of Performance Improvement, Audit Management and Back Office within the Corporate Internal Audit and Advisory, Security and Forensic Division.

In Czech Republic she worked for 5 years at Ernst&Young as internal audit manager in Business Risk Services for clients from various companies, but mainly in the energy sector. She participated on several independent quality assessments. Before her advisory career she led an internal audit department at ČEPS, a.s. and shortly supported tax intergration of CZ with EU at the Ministry of Finance.

In time 2004 – 2010 she was a member of the Board of Czech Institute of Internal Auditor as Vicepresident for communication and marketing and editor in Chief of the Intenral Audit magazine.  

Andrea is a lawyer by background (Law faculty of Charles Universtiy) and posseses CIA and CRMA certifications. She is married and has three children.

What is master data and why is master data management a key competence for effective company management, not only in time of digitalization. Retrospective view on the profession and role of internal audit from a former audit professional in time, when companies need to keep their data under control if they want to utilize opportunities that modern technology offers. Certain comparison of internal audit and master data management – need for transparency, structure and governance. Data as an opportunity for internal audit.
